How much does a catio cost?
This is easily the number one asked question when anyone is considering a catio. And our answer will always be, it varies. As with most everything these days catio materials are getting more expensive, also time spent building is also very valuable. Therefore our commitment to the quality of the build, and the quality of materials can make some builds quite expensive and possibly out of the reach of some customers. As with home building we find it easier to price our builds by square foot. This way all aspects of the build are spread across the footprint size and makes it easier to estimate. Keep in mind that some material pricing is dynamic, such as dimensional lumber, so there can be a difference between a given estimate and the formal quote. But once formal quote is provided the amount quoted will not change provided it is agreed upon within 30 days.
All this being said our builds are typically in the range of $40 to $60 a square foot. This range is neccessary based on choice of materials and the complexity of both the build and the interior ammenities. A non refundable deposit of 50% of the total cost is required upon agreement of the build, almost all material cost falls within this amount, and will ensure we don't incur any financial losses if someone chooses to back out of the agreement.
In the coming weeks I will be putting a lot of thought and effort into designing a less expensive but equally robust alternative to our traditional design. Keep an eye on the blog page for any updates.
What geographical area do you build in?
We are based out of the Bridgewater area of Nova Scotia.
To keep travel costs and other logistical costs lower we are currently only accepting builds within approximately 100km to a max of 150km from our home. This is roughly the area seen outlined on the map shown.
